Two pastors with ties to Greg Locke’s Global Vision Bible Church near Nashville have announced they are resigning, claiming that Locke created a toxic environment among church leaders that lacked accountability.

Justin and Kasey Greenwell are married and formerly served the church as online pastors. In a resignation post the couple posted publicly on Facebook, they claim Locke created an environment where “disagreement felt dangerous” and “accountability” simply did not exist, leaving them without a safe biblical structure to process concerns of conflict.

The Greenwells said they still wish Locke well and that their decision to leave was not made in haste, emotion, or frustration.

“It has come after years of seeking the Lord’s heart, examining our own, and weighing the things we have walked through behind the scenes,” they announced. “Our deepest desire has always been to honor God above all else.”

In their resignation letter addressed to Greg and Taisha Locke, the Greenwalls also accuse the pastors of financial mismanagement.

“You looked us in the eyes and promised that you would establish a board, open the financial books, and allow staff to take part in major decision that shape this ministry,” they wrote. “But that day never came. Now, we are left facing a painful truth: you lied to us.”

Locke has notoriously made headlines for controversial actions, including burning books, hunting witches, and creating viral videos about COVID-19 and election conspiracies, The Roys Report points out.

On their Facebook post with hundreds of likes, dozens of comments, and shares, people are applauding the Greenwells for speaking out and standing up for what is right.

“Pastor Justin & Kasey, thank you for having the courage to share your truth publicly,” one person replied under the post, adding they never felt welcomed or encouraged at the church.

“1000% truth. Justin and Casey, thank you for speaking up for those that might have been too scared too or just refused to do,” another person commented. “Some of us just dusted off the sand from our scandals and tried to move on, still broken for those that stayed.”
