Jesus found in oven door in Slovakia

by Hannah Tooley

The homeowner in Batizovce said the image of Christ appeared one day whilst she was cooking, and despite trying to scrub it off the image would not leave.

The woman told The Daily Mail: "I wanted to cook so I put the pot in the stove, but my eyes kept being drawn down to the door.

"Something was slowly appearing there.

"So I sat and watched and suddenly the picture of Jesus appeared."

She went on to say it is not made up of fat, dust or steam.

After the local Romani Christian community found out about the image in the oven, they declared it a shrine.

Since then pilgrims have continued to visit the house to pray by the image in the oven door.

A pilgrim told the paper: "People think this miracle came to us to save us from poverty and show us that we need to follow his message of love and peace."

The oven owner now says she has not been able to cook: "Whenever I want to do some baking, my kitchen is full of worshippers and I can't even get to the oven."
