Michael Wear spoke ahead of the ceremony, which is taking place in Washington DC on Friday amid claims several Democrats will boycott it.
Speaking on Premier's Inspirational Breakfast, Michael Wear said: "I pray for Donald Trump.
"I pray that he will seek the flourishing of our country, that he will act as a moral leader and I think all Christians in my country and around the world should do the same."
Delivering his final White House news conference on Wednesday night, outgoing US president Barack Obama refused to comment on claims of a boycott but said he and his wife are attending.

Michael Wear, who directed faith outreach during President Obama's successful 2012 re-election campaign, said the country's first African-American leader will have a lasting impact.
Wear, who became one of the youngest ever staffers at the White House, went on to say: "Not only is his presidency going to have a profound, lasting impact but he's still a young guy.
"He's not leaving the stage. He's leaving the White House but he's going to continue to have an impact, advancing his legacy."
Meanwhile, the US vice president-elect and Christian, Mike Pence, praised Barack Obama and Joe Biden as he revealed the administration transition has come in on-time and 20 per cent under budget.
