A GoFundMe page has been set up to support the family of Pastor Robert Earl Guanco, who died at the Big Church Festival in West Sussex.

Jesus Living Water Church in Eastbourne confirmed to Premier Christian News on Saturday that Pastor Robert, 41, was the man reported to have died at the festival on Friday after a large sign fell.

The fundraiser, set up by the church with his wife, Isaeli, named as the beneficiary, has a target of £18,000 to support her and their daughter, Ellie.

The appeal says the family is now facing “an unimaginable loss”, alongside the practical and financial difficulties that follow an unexpected death.

“We are kindly asking everyone to come together and support his family during this incredibly difficult season,” the appeal says.

The church also paid tribute to Pastor Robert's life and service, writing: “Pastor Robert was more than a pastor. He was a beloved son, cherished brother, loving husband to Isaeli, a great father to Ellie, and faithful servant of God. He was also a good friend, mentor, and a blessing to so many people whose lives he touched.

“His life reflected humility, faith, love, compassion, and service. Through his ministry, kindness, prayers, and encouragement, he touched many lives. His passing is deeply felt by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.”

The fundraiser says: “What was meant to be a time of worship, fellowship, and celebration became an unimaginable tragedy.”

It says donations will help “ease some of the financial burden” and allow the family to focus on “grieving, healing, and supporting one another”.

Those unable to donate are encouraged to share the fundraiser, keep the family in their prayers or send “a message of love and comfort”.

The appeal adds: “Though Pastor Robert's earthly journey has come to an end, his legacy of faith, love, service, and the lives he touched will never be forgotten.”

It asks people to “surround Isaeli, Ellie, and their wider family with love, prayers, and practical support during this heartbreaking time”.

The church is hosting an open service to remember and honour Pastor Robert's ministry and celebrate his daughter's birthday.
