Baby daughter gets life-saving heart transplant moments after church prayer

by Aaron James

According to WBTV, Ella Leitner was suffering from a large growth on the left ventricle of her heart.

The mass left Ella, then less than one year old, looking grey and gave her difficulty breathing. Doctors told her parents Melanie and Mike Leitner that she could die within days and only a suitable heart transplant would save her.

They told parishioners at Abundant Life Foursquare Church in Mooresville, North Carolina, about Ella's situation and they stopped their service in January to pray for her.

As they walked out of the service they received a telephone call confirming a suitable heart for Ella had been found. Months later she is well and has now reached her first birthday.

Melanie told the station: "If this wasn't a God moment, I don't know what could be.

"You know that another family has lost their child, and you know that in their darkest moments they were able make the decision that saved my little girl. We will be eternally grateful for that."
