Tyson Fury praises opponent's "big faith in God" ahead of world title showdown

by Premier Journalist

Lineal heavyweight champion boxer Tyson Fury says he finds it "beautiful" that his opponent for the undisputed heavyweight title also has "big faith in God."

"We are the two biggest Christians in boxing," announced Fury while speaking to Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk during their three-way fight preview interview with boxing journalist Steve Bunce.

"Without failure, I can train all I want, but whoever God wants to win this fight will win. It doesn't matter if you're from the gutter or the kingdom of wherever."

"Whoever is chosen to win this fight, we're winning."

"Listen, being a champion is great. But to see someone who is also a world champion and has big faith in God is unbelievable. Beautiful."

The fight is scheduled for February 17 in Saudi Arabia, with the victor claiming all four heavyweight belts to become the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world.

Fury, the WBC champion, and Usyk, who holds the WBA, IBF, and WBO titles, were in talks to fight this past April at London's Wembley Stadium before negotiations collapsed last minute.
