Donald Trump has announced plans to build a triumphal arch in Washington, bearing the inscription: 'One Nation under God'.
The 'Independence Arch' would commemorate 250 years since the United States was founded, and sit between the Lincoln Memorial and the entrance to Arlington National Cemetery.
New mock-ups have been released for the proposed 250-foot structure. The images show a huge statue resembling the Statue of Liberty with angel wings, flanked by flying eagles. Four gilded lion statues sit at its feet.
The monument resembles Paris' Arc de Triomphe and London's Admiralty Arch - both of which are inspired by Rome's Arch of Titus, built in 81 AD.
Proposals will now need approval from the Federal Commission of Fine Arts.
