Meriam Ibrahim was released from prison yesterday following an international outcry over the sentence.
Sources said she has been taken back into custody at Kahrtoum airport by officers from Sudan's Secret Service.
She was accompanied by her husband Daniel Wani, who is an American citizen. It's thought the family were attempting to leave Sudan for the US.
It remains unclear where the couple's two children are, but its understood they had been with their parents at the airport before the couple's arrest took place.
According to anti-persecution charity Christian Solidarity Worldwide, the 27 year-old's lawyers, who have faced death threats throughout the process to secure her release, were also threatened with arrest by officers from the state's intelligence service.
Mrs Ibrahim was being held in Omdurman Federal Women's Prison in North Khartoum up until Monday, after being found guilty of apostasy and adultery in May for marrying a Christian man.
She denied the charges claiming she was raised as an Orthodox Christian while her Muslim father was absent during her childhood.
Following international condemnation of the case, she was released yesterday and taken to an undisclosed location for her own safety following death threats from a man identified as her brother.
Al-Samani Al-Hadi slammed the appeal court's decision to release her and said his family would seek revenge after the "Christians had tarnished their honour".
She was initially arrested last year after being accused of adultery by Al-Samani Al-Hadi who said her marriage was invalid due to her husband being a Christian.
She was sentenced to 100 lashes for adultery and was due to be hanged for apostasy.
The 27 year-old was also forced to deliver her baby at the hospital wing in the prison while her legs were kept in heavy chains during the birth.
Ms Ibrahim's rearrest has already garnered criticism from around the world with the Archbishop of Canterbury retweeting remarks by the leader of Coptic Christians in the UK, Bishop Angaelos who tweeted "Prayers for #MeriamIbrahim, rearrested with family in #Sudan #Unjustifiable! #Unconscionable!"
However, His Grace told Premier he remains hopeful the mother of two will be freed once more.
Sudan has a majority Muslim population, and Islamic law has been in force there since the 1980s.
