A video of Pope Francis stopping his official motorcade on the middle of a road in Italy to bless a disabled girl has gone viral.

The footage of the Holy Father getting out of his car to speak and pray with the people who had held up a banner to attract his attention, was posted online.

They shouted "Bravo Pope Francis" before he got back in the car.
