Pope Francis keeps TV switched off for 25 years

by Hannah Tooley

In an interview with an Argentinian newspaper, La Voz Del Pueblo, he also said he had never used the internet and only reads one newspaper a day for around ten minutes.

The 78-year-old also admitted that he relies on a member of the Swiss guard to find out if his football team has won or lost.

His reason was simply TV "is not for me."

When asked what he misses about his life before papacy, along with freedom and pizza, he said "to go outside."

"That much I long for - the tranquillity of walking through the streets, or to go to a pizzeria to eat a good pizza."

Pope Francis took over at the Vatican in 2013.
