A Louisville pastor pleaded guilty July 23 to stealing multiple credit cards from elderly women and using them for his own financial gain.
Virgil Mozee, a pastor at The New Christian Church of Jesus Christ, pleaded guilty to three counts of credit card fraud and three counts of theft following three separate incidents over the course of 15 days.
Court documents accuse Mozee and accomplice Nathaniel Porter, III, of stealing three women's wallets while they were shopping in September 2025.
Prosecutors claim Mozee and Porter stole three women's bank and credit cards at Meijer and Kroger before using, or attempting to use, those cards at Walgreens. All three reports were supported by evidence captured on video surveillance.
Court documents indicate Mozee spent thousands of dollars between all of the stolen cards. One of the victims said she discovered 10 unauthorized transactions on her card totaling in almost $4,000.
Mozee's sentencing hearing is scheduled for Sept. 28.
