American Pastor Louie Giglio has shared a powerful photo of the last time he saw the late apologist, Ravi Zacharias, before he passed away. Giglio, the founding pastor of Atlanta's Passion City Church - where a memorial service was held for Ravi last week - shared the heartwrenching image with the permission of the Zacharias family and offered his thoughts on grieving the loss of his friend at a time when the nation is in turmoil.
Giglio wrote: "I've struggled in recent weeks to not allow the death of my friend @ravizacharias to get swallowed up in the gulf of injustice and outrage that rightly defines our nation in these days. We had this beautiful moment of laughter—and a lot of tears—as we said goodbye just days before he was catapulted into Heaven from this very spot of earth.
Pastor Louie added that he and his team "were so eager to serve @rzimhq in assisting with the memorial service" that he "barely had time to grieve" following Ravi's passing.
He concluded: "But #thankyouravi for showing me such humility and compassion and love for all people. My deepest gratitude to the Zacharias family for the gift of saying an earthly goodbye to my friend and for capturing and allowing me to share this treasured moment."
Ravi Zacharias, the founder of apologetics organisation, Ravi Zacharias International Ministries (RZIM), died on the 19th May after a short battle with cancer. His memorial service featured homages from a number of prominent figures across entertainment, sports, politics and faith. Vice President Mike Pence delivered an address, along with former NFL star quarterback, Tim Tebow and Pastor Giglio. The service also featured a performance from Christian rapper, Lecrae.
