Pastor Artur Pawlowski has been denied bail for a second time after being jailed for allegedly inciting violence during anti-vaccination border blockade protests in Canada.

The 49-year-old leader of Cave of Adullam Church in Alberta was arrested earlier this month over a speech he gave to truckers blocking travel to the US.

He told the crowd that "for freedom to be preserved, people must be willing to sacrifice their lives. This is our time."

On Wednesday, provincial court Judge Erin Olsen ruled that Pastor Artur cannot be released in part because he "will not follow court orders."

Pastor Artur has been charged with mischief and interrupting the operation of essential infrastructure under Alberta's Critical Infrastructure Defence Act.

Some 400 heavy trucks and other vehicles have been parked around Ottawa's parliament and around the city since the beginning of February protesting against Canada's rule to make it compulsory for all truckers to be vaccinated or risk losing their jobs.

Two leaders of the trucker's convoy have been detained.

This is the fifth time Pastor Artur is arrested. Last year, he was detained several times for defying coronavirus rules on places of worship.

A video of him calling police officers "Nazis" and "Gestapo" as they walked into his church to warn of potential Covid breaches, went viral.

His latest arrest was also filmed and later published on his Youtube channel. Pastor Artur can be seen refusing to walk officers, they lamented he refused to "just stand up" and decided to "go dead fish" while taking him away to the police car.

His family told Fox News he is being treated "poorly" in prison and is currently "fasting to seek answer from God".

Prayer vigils for Pastor Artur's release have been planned in the US cities of New York, San Diego and Los Angeles on 26th February.
