Pastor criticised for dressing 'too sexy' for church service

by Kelly Valencia

A pastor in the US has been criticised by a member of his congregation for dressing "too sexy" for a church service.

The congregant of Embrace Church in Sioux Falls, South Dakota wrote a letter to the lead pastor Adam Weber calling him "disgusting" and "morally wrong" for his outfit choice.

"Do you really think it is appropriate to wear skinny jeans to preach?," the handwritten note read.

"Since when do men wear skinny-leg jeans? Where is your common sense?"

Speaking to The Mirror, Pastor Adam admitted he was initially taken aback by the anonymous letter.

"I get letters like this a few times a year. Sometimes I'll get where the person is coming from but when I started reading this, I wasn't sure if it was one of my buddies joking with me or something.

"I laughed when the person wrote 'since when do men wear skinny jeans?' I was wondering if they were calling me out because skinny jeans are no longer in style.

"I have about three different pairs of jeans and they're all skinny jeans, my attire is very limited.

"When I finished reading it, I became sad and heartbroken for the person who had written it."

Pastor Adam also posted the letter on his Instagram to "encourage people not to walk away from of Jesus because of people."

He said: "I'm not posting this to be passive-aggressive towards the anonymous person who sent this. Or for anyone to feel sorry for me. Only to encourage you: Please don't walk away from Jesus because of people.

"Note: Also I think I'll keep wearing my skinny jeans. Even if they're sexy?"

Pastor Adam concluded the post by admitting he has no "ill will" towards the author of the report.
