Pastor busted in undercover prostitution sting

by Lydia Davies

A North Texas pastor has been arrested on charges related to prostitution, according to an arrest affidavit.

In May, Terren Dames, the senior pastor of North Dallas Community Bible Fellowship, was taken into custody for soliciting prostitution.

According to Plano police, on 2nd May, Dames contacted an undercover police officer whom he believed to be a prostitute, agreeing to pay "$150 (£117)  for full service," referring to sex.

According to CBS Dallas, the undercover officer provided Dames with an address to meet, and he arrived at the location as instructed.

Police then conducted a traffic stop, knowing that Dames had just committed a felony. When questioned, Dames claimed he was at the motel to meet a friend.

During the encounter, Dames experienced a medical episode. First responders assessed him and found his vitals were low, but Dames refused to be taken to hospital.

Dames was released at the scene, but police confiscated his phone as evidence.

Dames had served as the senior pastor of North Dallas Community Bible Fellowship since 2015, according to the church’s website. However, his biography has since been removed from the site.

CBS News Texas has reached out to North Dallas Community Bible Fellowship for comment.
