Mumford and Sons quote Psalm 17 in new song teaser

by Premier Journalist

Folk-rock band Mumford and Sons have released a teaser to their upcoming album, which includes an apparent reference to the Bible.

The short clip features lead singer Marcus Mumford singing the line 'You're all I want, you're all I need, and I'll find peace beneath the shadow of your wings', which appears to be a paraphrase of Psalm 17:8.

'Keep me as the apple of your eye; hide me in the shadow of your wings.'

The currently untitled track is likely to appear on the band's new album 'Rushmere', slated for release on 28th March.

Mumford is the son of Vineyard Churches UK and Ireland founders, John and Eleanor Mumford.

The Grammy award-winning group have alluded to the Bible in many of their songs and often pen lyrics themed around grace, redemption and hope.
