Plans are in the works for streaming giant Netflix to produce more faith-based films.
It follows the success of The Chosen, the first series of which has been viewed over 300 million times.
A new selection of films based on biblical stories is planned with Christian actor Tyler Perry and producer DeVon Franklin at the helm.
Tyler Perry is best known for portraying the character Mabel ("Madea") Simmons, an outspoken grandmother who combines humour with religious wisdom. He's also godfather to Prince Harry and Megan Markle's son Archie.
DeVon Franklin's comedy drama Flamin' Hot film was nominated for an Oscar last year and was directed by Eva Longoria.
Perry and Franklin's first film R&B will be a modern-day retelling of the iconic biblical love story of Ruth and Boaz.
"I'm so excited to be working with DeVon on this and future projects," Perry told Tudum. "I think in this polarizing world, we both share the common goal of wanting to spread some good. And there's no better place than Netflix."
Set in Tennessee, R&B will tell the story of a young woman who escapes the Atlanta music scene to care for an elderly widowed woman. In the process, she finds love and acquires a mother she never had.
Speaking to Premier Christian News film critic Simon Carver said: "The Chosen has opened up the door for people to be receptive of just taking biblical stories and turning them into something that is entertaining as well as informing, and also spiritually uplifting."
"And I think that sometimes, we need to focus on how ordinary Christian people are getting on with their lives and how God works through them, we need people to be encouraged in their Christian lives."
