Syrian believer, Yaqub Mourad, told Premier that the West must bear some responsibility for the weapons fueling the war in his country and across the region.
He also fears for Christians fleeing Syria to Lebanon, and said that families are arriving in the region with nothing but the clothes on their back.
Speaking through a translator, Emma Loosely, Professor of Theology at Exeter University, he told Premier what he hopes the visit will achieve.
He said: "I'm in Europe to bear witness to what's happened, but at the same time I have a duty to tell people what's happening to see if I can do anything to help the Christians who are trapped there."
Yaqub also said the West also needs to take some of the responsibility for the conflict in Syria.
"Unless there is a control of the arms trade it isn't going to stop and the situation is just going to get worse and worse, not just in Syria, but in many conflicts around the world," he said.
He highlighted the plight of Syrian Christians in Lebanon during an event on Thursday night held at Exeter Cathedral with the help of Exeter University and said that Europe is "closing their eyes and hearts" to the plight of Syrian Christians.
