Boko Haram took over the Christian town amid little fight back from the Nigerian army on Thursday afternoon.
Hundreds of people are now "trying to escape with their lives" according to a local official.
Since the government announced a 'ceasefire' with Boko Haram on October 17 the militants have taken control of several towns.
Revd Canon Hassan John from the Diocese of Jos told Premier the government was 'definitely not' doing enough to protect Christians.
He said: "We keep seeing again and again that the most vulnerable areas in Nigeria are the local governments that are predominantly Christian."
The Muslim extremists entered Chibok shooting from pick-up trucks and motorcycles.
It's understood none of the school girls who had escaped capture where in the town at the time.
Residents in areas captured by Boko Haram say the group has set up courts upholding a strict version of Shariah law.
There have been public amputations and whippings.
