Megachurch pastor Mark Driscoll removed from church network

Acts 29 terminated his membership because of what it described as 'ungodly and disqualifying behaviour'.

Mr Driscoll has been a controversial figure in evangelical circles for several years but continues to attract around 14,000 people to his Mars Hill Church.

But Acts 29 has now removed all of the pastor's church locations from the website of the network.

Premier has asked Mr Driscoll for a comment but haven't yet heard back.

Acts 29 said in a statement: "The nature of the accusations against Mark, most of which have been confirmed by him, make it untenable and unhelpful to keep Mark and Mars Hill in our network.

"In taking this action, our prayer is that it will encourage the leadership of Mars Hill to respond in a distinctive and godly manner so that the name of Christ will not continue to be dishonoured."
