Lib Dem conference backs Clegg on economic policy

Nick Clegg's survived a vote on the coalition's economic policy at the Liberal Democrat conference in Glasgow. A rebel left wing group tabled an amendment urging the party to consider a different approach.

But their amendments were defeated.

Meanwhile, the Lib Dem leader says it's not up to the government to tell people what to wear.

But he says it's right that wearing veils in public places should be the subject of a national debate after a Home Office Minister spoke about his concerns. Jeremy Browne says believes the government should consider banning Muslim women from wearing the veil in public places.
