Justin Welby celebrates one year as Archbishop of Canterbury

It's been a year since Most Revd Justin Welby was named the Archbishop of Canterbury. In the past twelve months he's been praised for his insights into the banking industry and hit the headlines when voting against the Government's plans to legalise same sex marriage. His appointment marked a rapid rise to the top as he'd only been a bishop for a year. NT Wright was his predecessor as Bishop of Durham.

He tells Premier he's pleased to see him doing so well.

Meanwhile, the Archbishop of Canterbury's has pledged his commitment to supporting people with disabilities with the announcement he's becoming President of Livability. The Most Revd Justin Welby says he now wants the Church to lead the way on the issue. Dave Webber from the charity tells Premier it's given the organisation a massive boost.
