Justin Bieber has posted a heartfelt gospel message to Instagram, declaring that Jesus Christ is "the saviour of humanity".
Posting just days after releasing a faith-inspired song 'Holy' — which has since soared to number one in the global charts — Bieber urged people to separate the holiness of Jesus from the horrible things that have been done in his name
"Today as I watched church online, I was reminded that Jesus beat Death for you and I! He is the savior of humanity! We are dealing with a publicity crisis!!" the musician wrote. "So many horrible things done in the name of religion and Jesus.. the truth about Jesus is that he doesn’t pick political sides, Jesus is above it all!"
Bieber went on to say that Christ "died for all people".
"He died so that whosoever believes in him will not die but have everlasting life!" he added. "Jesus cannot fit into your political box. Jesus is king of kings, president of all presidents and he will reign forever. He is a perfect, loving, nurturing father that is obsessed with you and I!"
On Sunday, Bieber's collaborator on 'Holy', Chance the Rapper, revealed that gospel artist Kirk Franklin features during the final choir section of the track.
He tweeted: "Incase somehow people didnt know.. Yes that is my mentor, the legendary, one an only KIRK FRANKLIN ON THE END OF #HOLY with me and Justin. YUP"
