‘I can feel your prayers’: Tori Kelly gives health update after being treated for blood clots

by Kelly Valencia

Grammy award-winning singer Tori Kelly has taken to social media to thank God and her fans for all the prayers and support received since news emerged she was rushed to hospital earlier on Sunday.

In a post on Instagram, she said it had been “a scary few days” but “feel stronger now and hopeful”.

According to TMZ, the Christian singer-songwriter collapsed at a restaurant in Los Angeles and has been hospitalised for multiple blood clots around her vital organs.

On Wednesday, her husband Andre Murillo, said Tori was “smiling again and feeling stronger”.

“Not fully out of the woods yet, but we see the sun. Just waiting on a few more answers,” he continued.

Since news of her health difficulties surfaced, there have been doubts surrounding the release of Kelly's highly anticipated new EP, scheduled for this Friday. However, she has confirmed that the release will go ahead as planned.

Captioning her post with Deuteronomy 31:8, she wrote: “Hi friends, as you may have heard, I’m dealing with some unexpected health challenges.

“It’s been a scary few days but I can feel your prayers and I can’t stop thinking about you. I’m feeling stronger now and hopeful but unfortunately, there are still some things to uncover. I’m so grateful for the amazing doctors and nurses who have been looking after me.

“Of course, I’m heartbroken about all the things I had planned for this week of releasing my EP, but I know my health must come first. Until I see you again, I still want you to enjoy a project that represents the happy place I’ve been in the last few years. I won’t let this hurdle prevent the music from being yours on Friday!

“I love you all so much and I am truly overwhelmed by all the love and care I have received. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!”
