HTB scoops top digital prize

by Cara Bentley

The ceremony, held at The Brewery in London, honoured churches and individuals from across the UK who excel in the online world.

HTB, known as the birthplace of the Alpha course, picked up Most Engaging Large Church Website with one its church plants - Birmingham's Gas Street came runner up in the Instagrammer of the year category.

Other winners include CoMission for the best use of video, Psephizo for best blog while the Salvation Army picked up the Accessibility Award.

Explaining the importance of the event, Premier's COO Kevin Bennett said: "These awards are a testimony to the creativity, passion and skill of the Christian community. The entrants, finalists and the winners showcase the best in Christian digital endeavour across websites, apps, social media, blogging, video and more.

"They represent people serving the church and their communities, reaching people with the Christian message and helping us to understand how faith intersects with life in a digital age. I offer my congratulations to them all and encourage everyone to be inspired and encouraged by their achievements."

Ahead of the awards, hundreds gathered earlier in the day for the Premier Digital Conference which looks to support Christians wanting to do more online.
