Pope Francis has received happy birthdays from around the world as he celebrates his 80th.
The Vatican released a video showing the pontiff blow out candles on what appeared to be a chocolate cake in St Peter's Square, with thousands of onlookers watching.
The video also featured Christians from various continents wishing him a good day.
Pope Francis has led the Catholic Church since 2013.
There have been some concerns regarding his health given his age and the fact only one of his lungs is fully functioning.
Despite this he has made several visits across the world during his papacy and there have been no signals he's considering retirement.
The oldest pope ever to die or resign from office was Leo XIII, who was 93 when he died in 1903 after 25 years in office.
