A gospel singer and American Idol star whose death shocked many did not die in suspicious circumstances, police have said.
Mandisa Hundley, 47, was found dead at her home in Franklin, Tennessee, last week.
Police have now officially identified the Grammy award-winning singer's body, saying "there is no indication the death was the result of suspicious or criminal activity".
Hundley, who was known as a "powerhouse" of a singer and person, went on to have a celebrated career in Christian music after first auditioning on American Idol in 2005.
She released the first of her six albums in 2007, and her album Overcomer won her a Grammy in 2014.
The former backing vocalist had the words "American Idol Season 5 Loser/Grammy, Dove, & KLove Fan Award Winner/Defined by Neither" on her Instagram feed.
Hundley's death has attracted many glowing tributes, with fans describing her powerful, lighting up a room, and touching many lives.
The self-named 'Christ Representer' had publicly told American Idol judge Simon Cowell that she had forgiven him after he made several hurtful comments about her weight.
She said: "What I want to say to you is that, yes, you hurt me and I cried and it was painful, it really was. But I want you to know that I've forgiven you and that you don't need someone to apologize in order to forgive somebody. I figure that if Jesus could die so that all of my wrongs could be forgiven, I can certainly extend that same grace to you."
She published an autobiography in 2017 called Out of the Dark, in which she talked about battling with depression, and released an album of the same name.
