Damar Hamlin was successfully discharged from the University of Cincinnati Medical Centre (UCMC) on Monday, after suffering cardiac arrest during a live game last week.
Updating fans on Twitter, UCMC announced it was “thrilled” to release Hamlin from its care to allow him to "begin the next stage of his recovery".
Following his collapse, his fellow Buffalo Bill team mates were seen immediately dropping to their knees to pray for him on the field.
Various NFL teams have offered their prayers and support for Hamlin in his recovery. On Saturday members of the Tennessee Titans and Jacksonville Jaguars prayed for him before their game while NFL teams included “Pray for Damar” across their Twitter pages.
The Bills faced New England on Sunday, defeating them 35-2. Hamlin tweeted his support from his hospital bed, commenting that while he wished he could be there, God was “using him in a different way”.
“GameDay.. Nothing I Want More Than To Be Running Out That Tunnel With My Brothers. God Using Me In A Different Way Today. Tell Someone You Love Them Today"
