The Church of Scotland has voted to allow congregations to accept gay ministers.
Gay ministers will be free to work in the Church of Scotland. It's General Assembly has voted to allow liberal congregations to go against the Kirk's stance on homosexuality. A number of clergy have left and threatened to leave over the issue. Revd David Robertson - a minister in the Free Church of Scotland. He tells Premier it the decision was a complete mess. Revd Peter Johnston is part of the group One Kirk.
He tells Premier it was a wise decision.
The Church of Scotland's Moderator Right Reverend Lorna Hood has released this statement.
She said:
"This was a major breakthrough for the Church but we are conscious that some people remain pained, anxious, worried and hurt.
"We continue to pray for the peace and unity of the Church."
