Four Christians were kidnapped during an attack on villages in north-central Nigeria by Fulani herdsmen last Friday.
According to The Christian Post, the victims, including one woman, were taken from the Christian-majority villages of Mai-Iddo and Arikon in Kachia County, Kaduna state.
Audu described the assailants as “bandits” armed with deadly weapons and noted that the abductions occurred around 5 p.m. on 1st November while villagers were farming.
He added that this was the second raid on Mai-Iddo in two months.
In a previous incident on 17th October, four women and a child were abducted from the same village.
Reports from 19th May detail another assault on the predominantly Christian Mai-Goro village, where Fulani herdsmen kidnapped seven girls and women at gunpoint.
Peter Madaki, a local resident, identified those abducted, who included girls as young as three and four years old.
14th saw a similar attack in Bishini village, where five Christians were kidnapped, including community leader Samuel Danbayi and four of his children.
According to resident Abraham Bishini, the assailants demanded a ransom of 15 million naira (approximately £7,000) for their release.
On 3rd April Fulani herdsmen launched an attack on Goshe village, killing community leader Philibus Andrew and kidnapping 13 other Christians, including Abraham Dangana, his wife, their eight children, and three relatives.
The same night, ten Christians were also taken from nearby Badeko village.
