1. Congratulations! It's a...bag!

High-end fashion retailer Mulberry has replaced the baby Jesus for a handbag in its new Christmas advert. Far from being offended, the Evangelical Alliance argue the advert is "a great opportunity to talk about the real meaning of Christmas".

2. Christian children are more selfish

Children raised in Christian or Muslim homes are more selfish than those brought up atheist or agnostic, a study claims. Dr Jean Decety from the University of Chicago said, "I hope people begin to see that religion is not a guarantee for morality, and that religion and morality are two different things."

3. The Pope is a popstar

A CD featuring the voice of Pope Francis over a selection of different music has been release in Italy. 'Wake Up' is a collection of 11 tracks, including pop and rock music, holy chants and parts of the pontiff's speeches.

4. Government has no plans to ban or restrict 'gay cure' therapy

In a recent speech, Education Secretary Nicky Morgan who is also a Christian called for 'gay cure' therapies to be banned. But the Government has since clarified it has "no current plans to ban or restrict" such therapies.

5. It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

Royal Mail

This year's specially designed Christmas stamps will feature scenes from the nativity story, Royal Mail has announced. The stamps feature scenes from the Biblical story of the nativity from the Annunciation and the birth of Christ.
