The 13 monuments are among 50 being awarded listed status - which offers greater protection against developers - Historic England has announced on Armistice Day.
Tracey Crouch, the government's heritage minister, said: "The First World War affected every community across the country, and local memorials are integral to honouring the memory of those who served.
"As we continue to commemorate the centenary of the war, it is only right that we protect memorials across the country so future generations never forget the sacrifices that were made."
Memorials at Holy Trinity Church in Guildford, the Church of St John the Baptist in Hartlepool and the Church of St Michael and All Angels near Southport are among those those being listed.
Roger Bowdler, Director of Listing at Historic England, said: "One hundred years on, it is time to come together again to ensure our memorials are in good condition, and properly recognised by listing."
The latest monuments to be listed form part of a public nominations initiative by Historic England to ensure 2,500 receive the status before the centenary of the end of World War I in 2018.
