The European Christian Sports Union (ECSU) has created a special resource called the 'Migrant Sports Toolkit' with the aim of helping churches and individuals reach out to new people entering their communities.
The scheme uses sport and play as means of people getting to know one another.
Jonny Reid from Christians in Sport told Premier that "churches can be radical in this way."
He said: "Sport has the power to change the world... it's a language in and of itself. Where people are coming from a culture which is completely foreign from us, with a language they don't speak and a language we don't speak ...sport can really break down barriers quite quickly."
The ECSU also uses sport as a way for people to connect with God and it has been working with churches, individuals and organisations for 60 years.
Nelson Mandela once said: "Sport has the power to change the world.
"It has the power to inspire, the power to unite people in a way that little else does.
"It speaks to youth in a language they understand.
"Sport can create hope, where there was once despair.
"It is more powerful than governments in breaking down racial barriers. It laughs in the face of all types of discrimination."
The Migrant Sports Toolkit provides an online resources combining sports mission concepts with new ideas from practitioners all over Europe.
