Church of England to tackle homophobic bullying in Anglican schools

The Church of England and gay rights group Stonewall are to work together in a bid to tackle homophobic bullying in Church schools.

It's understood the Archbishop of Canterbury the Most Rev Justin Welby was behind the idea.

Meanwhile, new figures have revealed Church schools now take as many pupils from poor backgrounds and ethnic minorities as the national average.

The Bishop of Oxford, the Rt Revd John Pritchard is Chair of the Church of England's Board of Education, he told the News Hour the Church is reflecting society.
