Christian volunteers offer prayer and water to Wimbledon fans

A team from Third Space Ministries is also handing out bottled water to visitors queuing in Wimbledon Park for a ticket into the All England Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club.

Founder, Carolyn Skinner told Premier: "We've also got prayer walking in the daytime for people who are local; an hour one afternoon where people can pray around Wimbledon and the surrounding area, and pray for the work."

Wimbledon 2017 got underway at 11.30am on Monday morning, with one man at the front of the queue arriving at 1am on Saturday to secure a ticket.

Speaking about one women they've already met, Carolyn explained: "She said that she was in the queue last year. She'd injured her foot and she had a really painful foot.

"Our team prayed for her foot last year and it was completely healed. She wanted to tell us it had been completely fine ever since."

Following tradition, reigning men's champion Andy Murray will open up play on Centre Court at 1pm when he faces Kazakhstan's Alexander Bublik.

Seven British players see action on Monday, including Johanna Konta who plays Su-Wei Hsieh from Taiwan. Cameron Norrie takes on Jo-Wilfried Tsonga of France and Laura Robson (pictured, top) faces Beatriz Haddad Maia.
