Charity Missing People joined with the Trinity Mirror to launch the Everything Stops for Tea campaign on Friday 20th March.
The initiative was designed to raise awareness about the number of missing people in the UK, and fund the telephone lines that can provide a link between families and their missing loved ones.
According to the Home Office around 250,000 people go missing each year.
Peter Lawrence is a Christian and his daughter Claudia has been missing for 6 years.
Martin Dales is his friend, and told Premier: "These phone lines are a vital link really between people who want to, if they're missing... talk to somebody else independent about why they've gone.
"Or at least families can know they're actually alive and safe."
The programme is also being supported by the charity's partner, Rock Choir. Members were invited to throw parties across the country.
Caroline Redman-Lusher, Founder of Rock Choir said: "It's a privilege to be able to support Missing People's Everything Stops for Tea campaign.
"Rock Choir has over 17,000 members country-wide who care a great deal about the success of the charity.
"Baking and socialising to raise money for such an important cause is not only satisfying but great fun. I'm sure they'll all be singing while they're baking."
