The author of the new Bible study Mission Possible - that helps people find their mission in life - said life is "not pain free."
Tim Tebow, an ESPN analyst and a former professional football and baseball player, who is a Christian, says: "God will never waste your pain when you give it to him."
Crediting the quote to his sister, he took to Instagram, telling his followers that pain in life - whether heartache, disappointment, setbacks in the workplace, or the loss of a loved one - can be used by God if Christians trust him.
"You see, guys, even in the midst of our pain, there's still purpose.
"There is purpose in the pain and there can be purpose in your pain," he said.
"There's still meaning, and there still can be great significance.
"When we look at all the heroes of the Bible, almost every single one of them --- through their pain has great purpose and when they continued to take the next step, eventually, there was great impact.
"So if you're going through pain, adversity, setbacks and heartache, know that when you keep trusting God, and you give that pain to him,
"He can create purpose in it and I believe he will, and I believe he wants to."
In his Mission Possible video course, Tebow speaks furrther about his belief that a "truly meaningful life is not more comfort or ease, but a clear mission," according to his website.
