Maria Miller's resigned as the culture secretary following a long row over her expenses.
She says she made the decision to go following mounting political pressure to quit the Cabinet.
Mrs Miller had received the backing of the Prime Minister to stay in her post but says she didn't want to be a distraction to the government's work.
