The famous Christian athlete and writer Tim Tebow has been cut from his current NFL team, the Jacksonville Jaguars.
After the Jaguars announced their plans to cut Tebow, the Christian athlete tweeted a thank you note to the organization, saying he was thankful "for the highs and even the lows, the opportunities, and the setbacks. I've never wanted to make decisions out of fear of failure, and I'm grateful for the chance to have pursued a dream…." He then referenced Romans 8:28, stating that "we know that…God works all things together for good." It is unclear what Tebow's next steps will be.
Thank you to the @Jaguars organization and everyone who has supported me in this journey.

Tim Tebow has been a consistent presence among Christian communities. Initially drawing attention due to winning a Heisman Trophy while homeschooled, Tebow would build a fairly lengthy career in football. Tebow played for the Florida Gators between 2006 and 2009, where he won several awards and became a reasonably notable player. He would later be picked up by the Denver Broncos for two seasons, followed by a trade to the New York Jets and New England Patriots. While Tebow was considered a highly profitable name, he struggled to become a dependable NFL quarterback. He would be released from the Philadelphia Eagles in 2015 and took a five-year break from the football scene. Tebow would play minor-league baseball for the New York Mets between 2016 and 2021. He was later picked up for a one-year contract by the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Tebow's faith made him a notable name in Christian communities, publishing several books under his name. He also worked as a college football analyst at ESPN from 2013 until 2014.
