Letitia Wright, the Christian actress most famous for playing Shuri in Black Panther, has said that claims that she shared anti-vaccine sentiments on the set of the film’s sequel are not true.
The Hollywood Reporter accused her of sharing anti-vaccine views during the filming of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, which is scheduled for release next summer.
Wright posted on Instagram in response: "It saddens me to have to address the reports published by The Hollywood Reporter on October 6th 2021. The report spoke about my conduct on the set of black Panther 2. I honestly assert that this was completely untrue.
“Anyone who knows me or has worked with me, knows that I work incredibly hard at my craft & my main focus is always to do work that’s impactful and inspiring. That has been & will continue to be my only focus.
“I will continue to hold onto Gods hands, and onto the scripture of Isaiah 54:17. I continue to focus on my healing. Thank you for your prayers. And I continue to pray for Gods love, peace & joy for you all. God bless you.”
She posted a picture alongside her response of a knight in armour with a summary of Isaiah 54:17, which is: “no weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and this is their vindication from me,” declares the LORD.”
In December 2020, Wright was criticised for sharing a video that question whether the vaccine was created by Lucifer.
After replying to a string of followers criticising her post, Wright wrote: "If you don't conform to popular opinions. but ask questions and think for yourself....you get cancelled."
Soon after that, she added that she never intended to hurt anyone and later deleted her Twitter account.
my intention was not to hurt anyone, my ONLY intention of posting the video was it raised my concerns with what the vaccine contains and what we are putting in our bodies.
