A law firm head has been charged with the murder of a Catholic school teacher who was found dead in a hotel on Christmas Eve.
Carl Langdell, 26, of Waltham Cross was charged on Christmas Day with the murder of Katie Locke, 23.
Katie Locke was a history and politics teacher at Cardinal Pope, a Roman Catholic secondary school in Hackney, East London.
Her body was discovered on Christmas Eve at Theobalds Park Hotel in Hertfordshire.
The Times has reported that Langdon's CV claims he founded Langdell Legal Associates in August.
Police released a statement from Katie Locke's parents: "As a family we are distraught, in shock and totally devastated.
"There was not a bad bone in Katie's body.
"Katie worked hard and loved her job as a teacher.
"In what little spare time she had she enjoyed sports.
"We now feel like our future has been stolen from us."
Katie Locke had recently taken up a position at Cardinal Pope.
Carl Langdell is due to appear before St Albans crown court in January. His plea is not yet known.
