Calls for prayer as Tim Keller readmitted to hospital

by Heather Preston

The son of Christian pastor and theologian Tim Keller has asked people to pray for his father who is battling cancer, after he was readmitted into hospital on Sunday.

The renowned apologist and writer was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2020 and has undergone both chemotherapy and immunotherapy treatments.

In March 2023 Keller revealed that while the treatment was successful at targeting 99 per cent of the original tumours, new tumours had since developed and further treatment was needed.

Updating his followers on Twitter, his son, Michael Keller said on Tuesday: “After being released from the hospital on Saturday, [Tim] returned late Sunday night to receive additional care. Please continue to pray for his recovery.”

Keller, who previously survived thyroid cancer continues to communicate his trust in God's will for his life. Speaking previously to Premier Christianity, he remarked that his cancer diagnosis has transformed his prayer life for the better and he prays at least “twice a day” for complete healing.
