Tributes are pouring in for renowned pastor Tim Keller, with social media flooded with messages honouring his memory.
The 72-year-old evangelist and author passed away at his Manhattan home on Friday, following a decline in his health recently after undergoing chemotherapy for pancreatic cancer, which he was diagnosed with in 2020.
Church leaders from around the world have taken to social media to express the impact of Keller's work on their faith and ministries.
Nicky Gumbel shared on Twitter: "So thankful to God for Tim Keller's life and ministry. Brilliant communicator, superb role model, and wonderful friend. He will be greatly missed on earth but is now with the Lord for all eternity."
Collin Hansen, vice president of content and editor-in-chief of The Keller Centre for Cultural Apologetics, described Keller's loss as "not only felt as our leader but especially as our friend and example.”
Christian rapper Lecrae, who recently mentioned Keller in one of his songs, expressed how Keller's teachings had profoundly impacted his life.
Numerous other church leaders have also highlighted the influence of Keller's extensive collection of over 20 books on their own lives and ministries. Baptist pastor David Platt, in a blog post, mentioned how he frequently recommends Keller's book "The Reason for God" to individuals seeking answers to faith-related questions.
Reflecting on Keller's battle with cancer, Platt emphasised the books Keller had written on hope and walking with God through pain and suffering and how Keller exemplified these teachings in his own life.
Evangelist Franklin Graham extended his condolences to Keller's family and loved ones, while Pastor Greg Laurie called for prayers for Keller's wife and family members.
