The late American evangelist and preacher Billy Graham is about to have his former home on the market.
Graham, who died in 2018 at the age of 99, has greatly influenced much of American Christianity. Graham was often the go-to leader to pray with various political leaders across the United States. He also organized several 'Crusades,' bringing the Gospel presentation across the world, and is considered an integral figure in Evangelicalism's long history.
Graham was constantly traveling but often called the state of North Carolina his home state. Now his house, a building in the 1940s, has entered the market. According to Premier Sotheby Realty, the house, located in Montreat, NC, is currently listed for $599,000. It includes four bedrooms and two baths. In previous years, the home was listed as a vacation rental, "allowing guests to experience the Grahams' young family life through a collection of original furnishings, books, photos, and mementos."
Daughter Ruth told the local paper that deciding to sell the house was a tough decision. However, they hope it will bless its future owners as much as it blessed her own family.
In the posting she said the household had much historical value for the Grahams.
"I was born during the time my family lived in the house. The Los Angeles Crusades and [my father's] tour of England happened during those years. It is where it all began."
The house is currently located at 198 Mississippi Road. It is owned by The Original Place, LLC, a corporation owned by Ruth Graham.
