51-year-old Wade Morris, a popular Southern Baptist youth speaker passed away this week from medical complications related to COVID-19.

Morris was considered fondly by many attendees of youth camps and Baptist ministries. Originally born in Birmingham, Alabama, Morris would get his bachelors at Samford University and a Master's of Divinity at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. The older speaker would serve at several churches before feeling a call to a traveling ministry focused on sharing "sound Biblical teaching and insight". Wade Morris says that he is on the road at least 200 days a year speaking at youth camps and conferences before hundreds of thousands of attendees.

Wade is also the founder of The Journey Bible Study Series, which is "a study that walks people through the reading and understanding from books of the Bible." Originally started in a Starbucks with a few people, it is now a tool used in America, Japan, Europe and many other countries.

Morris' social media was often focused on his evangelistic endeavors. His last tweet was on July 10, where he experienced "457 professions of faith this week in Oklahoma."

Morris' death was mourned by many on social media, with pastors describing him as "a bold preacher of the gospel" and well respected by those who heard him speak.
