Austria Christian woman stabbed for reading Bible

by Aaron James

According to the Daily Express, the 50-year-old woman was attacked at the accommodation in Timelkam in Voecklamarkt, Upper Austria.

A 22-year-old Afghan man has been detained in relation to the incident. It's unclear if he's been charged with any crime or not.

The injured woman was asked by other Christian residents of the migrant centre to discuss the Bible.

The Afghan man allegedly overheard this and, when she began reading it in the centre's kitchen, stabbed her with a knife.

The woman does not appear to have suffered serious injury, with the Daily Express reporting a thick coat she was wearing prevented significant damage.
