A new docuseries about the history of the church in Wales and the life of Jesus has been developed in a bid to celebrate the influence and significance of faith in the country.
Hope Cymru, developed by St Mark's Evangelical Anglican Church, Cardiff comprises a series of interviews with professors, faith leaders and clergy to explore the influence of Jesus and the Church throughout the history of Wales.
Project founder and vicar of St Mark’s Church, Rev’d Marcus Nelson, said: “Hope Cymru reconnects Wales with the greatest story ever told. We hope the project will restore churches’ confidence in the influence and importance of faith in Wales and go beyond the films into encouraging people to explore their connection with the deep spirituality of this country.”
A launch event for Hope Cymru will take place on 21st October at Llandaff Cathedral.
The Archbishop of Wales will open the event with prayer and a blessing. Three musical performances will follow, to represent the heritage of Wales, the multiculturalism of modern faith in Wales and the future of faith in Wales.
