500,000 people visit the Museum of the Bible in first 6 months

by Eno Adeogun

According to post-visit surveys, more than 90 per cent of guests to the $500 million Washington DC attraction have rated their experience at the museum as excellent or good.

Responding to the figures, the museum's president Cary Summers said in a press release: "We are pleased that more than half a million people have walked through the iconic Gutenberg Gates since last November to experience the largest museum dedicated to the Bible.

"As we enter the peak of tour season, we look forward to welcoming new and returning guests to engage with the history, narrative and impact of the most influential book ever written."

The museum also reported that 251,310 people participated in the Hebrew Bible walk-through.

Situated three blocks from the US Capitol, the museum includes towering bronze gates inscribed with text from the Gutenberg Bible and a soundscape of the 10 plagues - enhanced by smog and a glowing red light to symbolise when the Nile River turned to blood.
