1,359 teenagers accept Jesus at Soul Survivor

There had been fears changing one of the three venues might deter some youth groups from coming but organisers reported only a "small" drop in ticket sales.

Founder, Mike Pilavachi said: "There is nothing I know as wonderful as watching young people give their lives to Jesus and we love hearing stories of each person's journey to faith.

"One youth leader brought twelve unchurched young guys, one of whom had a particularly difficult home life and responded to a word Ali gave concerning a parent having medical tests in the coming week.

"He received prayer and gave his life to Jesus. By the end of the week, the whole group had given their lives to Jesus and met with him powerfully."

Soul Survivor decided to move two of the week-long gatherings from the Bath and West Showground in Somerset to the East of England Showground near Peterborough in the hope "many new people could join".

As in previous years, two other events were held in Kinross and Staffordshire. Alongside Mike Pilavachi on stage, Ali Martin and Andy Croft hosted the events.

More than 20,000 people attended the four events, including 15,000 who came to the first Soul Survivor events at their new East of England Showground home.

Worship was led by Tom Smith and Beth Croft from Soul Survivor, with guests including Rend Collective, Lex Buckley and Dave Miller.

Describing a moment of healing, Mike Pilavachi said: "In Scotland there was also a guy who hadn't been able to read for a year after falling out of a tree and damaging his skull and eye. He spoke to Andy in tears after God healed him."
