Here are the answers to some of the more frequently asked questions about Premier Christian News
Our news is created by a team of five journalists headed up by Group Head of News Marcus Jones. Between them they deliver news on air on Premier Christian Radio (including the News Hour), Premier Praise and Premier Gospel; in magazines Premier Christianity, Premier Youthwork and Premier Childrenswork and online at premierchristian.news. You can find more about the team here.
The team works hard to deliver a broad range of stories from across the Church spectrum and varying in topic. With links to Press Association and Sky, as well as good relationships with press offices across the world, we have access to a huge amount of stories. We strive to find the most interesting content and deliver news from a Christian perspective which you won’t find elsewhere.
The newsdesk receives a large amount of email/mail on a daily basis and will endeavour to get back to all who give feedback but on occasion this isn’t possible. You can contact the team here. We welcome all feedback and regularly monitor our social media channels.
The news team cover stories that relevant to the audience we aim to serve. Occasionally these will be less than favourable but we report fairly and responsibly. We will always endeavour to give everyone a fair representation and the opportunity to respond to a story. While we want to celebrate the good that the Church and Christians do around the world as much as possible, we feel it is important for the wider Church have access to truth.
We want to give readers the opportunity to receive news from a Christian perspective. This will include matters going on inside the Church as well as national and international news which will include expert Christian commentary. We want our news to be different to any other secular news outlet delivering exclusive content which can only be accessed here.
Premier aims to reflect the broad orthodox church so this will mean covering news from a variety of churches and denominations. We also feel it is best practice to report on a variety of viewpoints particularly when covering controversial stories. In its news coverage, Premier does not take a particular stand point and aims to deliver a good, balanced variety of voices. On top of this our on air news is also regulated by the watchdog Ofcom ensuring we are delivering impartiality across the board.
You can hear hourly updates on Premier Christian Radio from 07.00 GMT finishing with an extended news roundup at 17.45. Our News Hour show is broadcast at 13.00. You can listen anywhere in the world at premierchristianradio.com. For UK listeners you can find us on DAB radio. In addition you can listen on Freeview TV Channel 725 and within Greater London and Surrey on MW 1305, 1332, 1413, 1566.
